about kindra
I work with adults and adolescents, who are struggling with a variety of challenging experiences including high stress phase of life challenges, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss. I utilize a strengths based perspective and have specialized training in EMDR, IFS, CBT+, DBT, and mindfulness. Please see my blog to learn more about these specific treatment options.
My approach to therapy emphasizes client strengths while relying on the therapeutic relationship to help individuals feel connected and empowered as they navigate their daily rituals and relationships. My strength as a therapist lies in my ability to provide a space of non-judgment and acceptance with a reliance on humor and levity to facilitate building of trust.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oregon (License #L6366) and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the State of Washington (License #LW60681091). In addition, I hold the certification of a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS), which requires 100 additional hours of training in child and adolescent development.
I received my BA in Psychology from University of Oregon, and have a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Portland State University. I have over 10 years of experience providing clinical care, and have worked in various settings including drug and alcohol treatment, Veterans Affairs, adult outpatient services, and child and adolescent outpatient services. In addition to direct clinical work, I also provide clinical supervision for new therapists seeking licensure in the field.
